Not an accurate statement regarding NHS

<<<<<<<<<< but nobody would prescribe it >>>>>>>>>

The National NHS approved ActiPatch under their Drug Tariff. It was the Local NHS bureaucracy, CCGs, who stopped doctors from prescribing ActiPatch with the same excuse that US health Insurers use, 'more, larger clinical studies are needed to confirm efficacy'.

It is more likely that the CCG decision was based on cost issues as their budgets have been cut over the last 15 years due to lower UK tax revenues. They seem to feel that more availability of Drugs/Devices to their patients means more expenses that they can't afford.

ActiPatch is not the only Device/Drug that the CCGs would not approve. Each time a new Drug Tariff is issued by the National NHS the CCGs deny the use of hundreds of new Drugs/Devices.
