Slide #6 on the right is referring to the P2a trial, which was not placebo controlled and on the right PPD P2 trial.

Since the P2a trial was not placebo controlled and Anavex wanted to show a correlation between the S1R biomarker and ASCS-ADL change, they chose the MWU test.

You post is a case of Apples and Oranges.
