Einstein: I think the S-2 WAS ready to be moved. The question that comes to mind is: what happened? Some claim that it would be dismantled and reassembled at EAFB. Others thought that it would be flown over. Either way, nothing has happened. This leads me to believe that they might be having problems with the FAA.

Even flying on a tether, the FAA MUST BE NOTIFIED because such flights could become an aerial hazard especially at an airport such as Palmdale. The FAA would put out a NOTAM (notice to airman) that tethered flight testing of an unmanned airship is being conducted at Palmdale (wherever on the airfield).

When they rolled out the Strat for its' first photo-op, the airship looked nearly complete - as opposed to the photo of Jones with the S-2 in the background. So, it was reasonable to assume that tethered flight testing was just around the corner.

If you consider my posts wishy-washy - then, don't read them.

No man should be considered totally useless....because he can always serve as a bad example.
