Corruption may involve many activities which include bribery, influence peddling and the embezzlement and it may also involve practices which are legal in many countries. Political corruption occurs when an office-holder or other governmental employee acts with an official capacity for personal gain.

We each have some sense of integrity (or not) as applied in a process, such as a decision making (group) process, one chartered to decide pass/fail for example. IMO (for example) being silent when lies are being used to influence the process outcome is a form of lying. (how does one prove ...???)

Some processes are more susceptible to corruption than others. I have personally witnessed an FDA inspector agent influence a process , (example) in one case a uniformed inspector put her loaded .38 cal. revolver on the conference room table directly in front of her during a discussion at a closing meeting. I took that as a form of influence for the process direction. It was effective. (Silence) AS far as I know there was no written(other record) of this action. (Corrupted the decision process (??), No comments made or recorded that I know of.
