It's a good point. I wonder though why it seems that polymers are not often discussed when silicon photonics is discussed? Maybe I'm not understanding the terminology well enough but at this wiki site for Silicon Photonics, for example, the word polymer isn't even on the site.. which suggests to me there are plenty of other approaches being considered other than using a polymer.

Re the SATIRE, the value of it is in the eye of the beholder, but if it is appreciated for it's humor that usually means there is some level of possible truth to it.
