It is over four years since Reduce It results came out. The very fact that doctors have to keep writing these articles explaining that Vascepa works while all of the alternatives do not shows how moronic the majority of doctors in America are.

Even among the few doctors I've seen, all but one seems to think that Vascepa is just another fish oil no different than Lovaza, fish supplements and eating fish for dinner. And obviously insurance companies and pharmacists feel the same. I've heard some doctors smugly defending their hesitancy, citing "conflicting trial results" involving fish oils, obviously conflating the results of EPA trials with EPA-DHA trial results and using the failure of trials by potential Amarin competitors as reasons to reject Vascepa as well. So they stick to their outdated routines, prescribing Lovaza, telling patients to use fish supplements or telling people to eat more fish.

When I've spoken of this, people on this board have said to find new doctors. And, I did, with the cardiologist who I saw for the first time in my life recommending fish oil supplements, I promptly went to somebody else in the same practice and found out she had worked with Dr. Bhatt and regularly prescribes Vascepa.

But otherwise it's hard to find Vascepa believers when only about 6,000 doctors among 750,000 doctors nationwide regularly prescribe Vascepa.

I've maintained all along that the company's biggest problem is public relations. And here we are at the end of the year and just a couple days before Quiet Period returns for another month! Despite pledges all year long that Vascepa would be sold in six European countries by year end and approval likely in China too, what is the tally? England and Sweden? That's it, right? And maybe launches are about ready in Finland and Northern Ireland? But no press releases to let us know if that's occurring or not?

I'm not a fan of the whole Denner fire sale quest like so many on this board, but one thing that did resonate in Denner's statement a couple months ago was the claim that there was no urgency in the Amarin board's reactions to anything. None of them wanted their summer vacations interrupted while the boat carrying our shares goes down in flames. And now it looks like they're all more concerned about enjoying their December holidays than issuing a press release to shareholders to say where things stand going into the Quiet Period.
