I was speaking with a relative about this stock over the holiday. Unlike me, he believes there are a substantial number of naked shorts out there. He believes the shorts know this stock will eventually succeed and they will start closing their positions soon. They know they will lose money in the process and have purposely delayed the closing of positions to next year so they don’t affect their 2022 bonuses. He also believes some of these hedge funds that were shorting will not only cover, but will eventually hold long positions. It’s an interesting theory I thought I would share. I should add, he’s a MD and believes approval is pretty much a guarantee.
