I think the alternative is the Rutgers Pop Tarts theory!

As soon as that toaster launches the tasty tarts up, you snatch them at their peak vertical trajectory which usually overshoots the somewhat lower resting level.

One piece of advice though is that the tarts are very hot at the high point and will cool off a short time later, so it’s tricky to enjoy your hot pop tart without burning the roof of your mouth !!!

Don’t get confused with the hot pizza correlary, which can also scorch the roof of your mouth but nobody ever shorts pizza!
