the daily short volume is a misnomer, and a complete rookie mistake. MMs frequently short the stock during the day because they know they have the shares to cover but shorting it moves the market at a faster pace .. the daily short report is usually covered by the end of the day .. that is why these 48% 'short' days never show up in the 'monthly' report
