Lucky..
heating oil has traditionally been made from the blubber of the Minke Whale. This is a much more efficient and renewable resource than that nasty crude oil from the Middle East.
Men in wooden ships sail the ocean in search of these whales. Once a man positioned in the crow's nest spots the spray from a whale blow hole, crews of men rush to small oar propelled boats to chase the whale down and kill it with hand held harpoons.
After the whale has been successfully killed, the carcass is hauled on ship where it is butchered and stored for transport back to shore. Once delivered to shore the fat of the carcass is melted down in large cast iron pots over open wood burning fires eventually producing clean and efficient heating oil for all of New England.
