I_banker, I think you have it right!

Are you suggesting that "paris" and "palermo" are castrated K8s with the 64 bit extensions turned off?

P.S.: I agree that AMD will leverage government funding for these fabs to the extent that they can, which should be considerable. However, it is probably not realistic to think they can fully build it without putting up some money of their own.
