Viking... I can confirm that longs are / have been using the actions of the shorts to accumulate shares because that's what I have been doing. BUT, the game is changing...in the last couple of weeks now you couldn't buy any shares at a higher bid... you have to bid at the ask... the MM's are becoming stingy with the shares you just sold to them and won't sell back unless you offer a premium.... I stopped day trading for additional shares last week mostly because I think the bomb will be dropped soon.... but getting those extras has been tough.... the MM's are now saving them for their shorter friends to cover.....
