Big difference for a commercial company vs. pre-commercial. Most CEO's of commercial companies are "diversifying their portfolio by selling some of their company's holdings."

Pre-commercial CEO's taking profits before delivering a commercial product is always going to be questioned. Pre-commercial companies rely on shareholders holding for long-time and they take the CEO's actions as signals. If a biotech CEO sells they could be signaling lack of confidence in future trials, approvals. etc.
