Folks, study the verbiage very closely. A judge could misconstrue the definition of "equivalent to Vascepa." Vascepa is approved for patients with Tgs of 150 mg/dl right? The Generics don't specify a range, they only say it's equivalent to Vascepa. For the 500 mg/dl and above generics are equivalent, a trick of the tongue. The Generics are also very wary of the verbiage used, it would be very hard in court to prove they were prescribing Vascepa for CVD conditions. They just say their product "reduces the risk of..." which for dyslipidemia patients it has been made equivalent by the court. A travesty in itself, but nonetheless a done deal and not necessarily a false assumption.
