Yes I can see where each passing takes a bit out of you, especially since the patients receiving treatments are so appreciative and hopeful, and the waiting areas are always so full.

My mom had previously survived colon cancer and was at that time under the care of a particularly top notch oncologist, and there was this lovely 40-ish lady with GBM who was so nice a person, with a nice teenaged daughter that often accompanied her, and before long she was no longer coming back to the doctor, subsequently hearing she passed. That was the first time I heard of GBM but I was struck by how quickly and indiscriminately it took this angelic person.

Over a decade later my cousin passed from ovarian cancer and within a year or two her husband was diagnosed with GBM, was treated, wore the helmet, and passed in a short time. Then a long time friend’s brother got surgery for a brain tumor but quickly returned as GBM and passed quickly. Most recently another friend’s close friend from school days, who was a celebrity sportsman, was diagnosed with GBM and had the surgery and SOC and passed quickly, leaving a wonderful family of wife and kids.

I’m sure everyone on this board has similar tragedies to friends, families, and acquaintances.

So when we get bombarded by all these mercenaries who either don’t give a “darn” or knowingly malign and undermine the first treatment to extend life and offer real hope with living examples of essentially cured friends, family members, and acquaintances, and children, you just try to fathom what conscience and morality allows this disregard for fellow human lives for any amount of compensation!

I’m sorry to rehash all this but it stinks!
