You also need to consider that the engineers/scientists of the world who are in or around this industry aren't making millions of dollars a year. Low to mid six figures is probably normal. To them, a $25-100,000+ investment could be a decent portion of their savings in a relatively high risk investment depending on how old they are. I'm certainly generalizing, but I believe it's a valid point.

You could have 25 engineers "in the know" each buy $100,000 dollars worth and cause ~250,000 shares of buying pressure. There's so much volume these days that amount spread out won't cause the share price to spike.
