I agree!
Actually, it amounts to legal (somewhat) fraud.
There are more ethical ways to play the game if one believes the stock price will fall.
Buying puts is one of those methods. Avoiding the stock altogether is another method.
Even if a person had "inside information" about the company's health, and acted on that information, that is basically unethical.
Of course, when has the stock market ever been completely ethical?
Some folks have pride in their morals and actions throughout life, and some just don't.
Always, just my humble opinion.
