According to FINRA REGULATIONS one must hold $2.50 cash or marginal securities in one's account for each share shorted even if the stock is trading at less than a penny per share. Unless one's account has a value of more than $25 million dollars. So do the math on who the short sellers might be. Certainly not the 24/7 naysayers on this board as they for the most part speak negatively about this one stock where the large short funds hold short and trade from the short side on whole baskets of small stocks in accounts of more than $25 million. Their protection lay in diversification as is more likely that these small Biotechs suffer through precipitous drops rather than meteoric assent.
