I’m very sorry to impact your estate plans, however Jon just recently (late 2021 I think) sold his beautiful French chateau style house on the River to live out in the Hamptons where he and his son have a vineyard/wine business.

He might very well have another crash pad place in NJ, however I love the residence he sold and often pass it on my ice cream and quiche runs in Rumson. (Nwbo coming in too late for me to buy the beautiful estate for myself)

Jon started his Soul Kitchen concept in Red Bank, and more of them have been opened, to give back to society, as places (eating establishments) based on volunteering and providing meals to everyone, where those less able to afford meals eat free and can volunteer to contribute back, while those who can afford it may pay and volunteer.

It says a lot about JBJ that he volunteers, including washing dishes and other chores you might expect a rock superstar might be too upity to do willingly, but not JBJ.

When our boys were young, at a Red Bank antique car and street event, he brought his young son and was just blending in among the anonymous crowd wearing a western hat, and I was sitting outside at the local coffee/food shop with my son, when I noticed him and our eyes connected from a distance.

We gave each other a silent and discrete acknowledgement with a slight nod, more like two dads, and I assure you he didn’t know me. (Although my daughter had one of his children in an extracurricular art class she had volunteered to assist.)

JBJ is good people as far as I’m concerned and you could do a lot worse than support his social causes like the Soul Kitchens in your legacy planning!
