The nice thing about an all share buyout is that it of course would defer any taxes and one could take the tax hit later, and plan for it. Additionally, the dividend income is tax advantaged as well. A nice chunk of qualified dividend income is tax free and the rest is only taxed at 15% up to around 400,000. I have not checked the latest and I do not generally invest in dividend stocks but I think most would prefer a stock buyout. The risk of course is that the shares of the purchasing company are overinflated compared to where they might be in a year or two or so. But if the price grows and you get a nice dividends, it makes things very easy.

Of course treasuries also will likely be paying a great, tax free income shortly as well. This is going to weigh on the broad markets for a bit. Inflation will decline and a lot of people planning for retirement will be able to secure retirement with some steady, reliable income for some time.
