When you spin something off. Or even start a new division. All of the revenue goes to keeping it alive. I am working with a startup that has started making money. The first round initial investors won’t see a dime for a year. So much has to be paid back and paid up first. And if they are smart. They won’t pull any money out for 2 years. And then they will be able to pull out 5 times more.
