Most of our “Heat” comes from the Sun. On sunny days there is a lot of heat around but we’ve become lazy, relying on the stored heat from a million year old process, while our houses bath in thousands of BTU’s but not designed to transfer it within.

I built a little hot box solar collector that pumps heat from a small box through a double hung window, 80deg.F warmer than the outside air. It’s less than 3X5 feet, powered by a small solar panel and fan. It can maintain and even increase the temperature within a 25X25 foot room, depending on the outside temp.

It doesn’t solve the problem of what to do at night or when it’s too cloudy but it relieves some of the load on fossil fuels with 0 emissions.

Grab some plexiglass or an old storm window, some black paint, aluminum screen material, fanfold insulation, scrounge some materials to make a frame and enjoy free heat.

Eventually, engineers and designers will come up with something more efficient and better looking but in the meantime, you can wait for TLD with warmer toes.

All my posts are my opinion only and shouldn’t be used for decisions regarding purchasing or selling.
