Electric vehicles catching fire in aftermath of Hurricane Ian, Florida official warns

Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis warned Thursday that as electric vehicle (EV) batteries corrode, fires begin. Sharing a video of firefighters in Naples putting out a smoking vehicle, he said there are "a ton" of EVs currently disabled from the storm.

Sounds like yet another reason to not buy pretty much every EV on currently market.

There is currently no official count of how many EV batteries have caught fire as a result of Hurricane Ian.

There’s a ton of EVs disabled from Ian. As those batteries corrode, fires start. That’s a new challenge that our firefighters haven’t faced before. At least on this kind of scale. #HurricaneIan

Could it be that there is a strategy to distract people away from looking at the basic data?
Is all this an exercise to create more and more forum verbiage to drown out any serious discussion of evidence?
