I will say this, the information that NAS prepared for that forum came from LP herself, not from the academy per se. So there’s that to account for. And this last sentence is a bit ambiguous.

I never said she didn’t have some involvement with NAFTA given her politically appointed position at Commerce. But I suspect — as the title of the journal article suggests and the addition of other authors — that her role was likely more limited than advertised or implied.
