Thanks for the reply Falconner and I agree with your assessment of the over all political battle going on in the “halls of science”.

Metaphorically speaking the amyloid plaque removal is akin to removing the sap from a tree. Sap, like plaque, is mostly produced to protect the host from an attacking entity. In the case of a tree it is typically a insect of some sort that has bored its way into the bark. As this the tree goes into protection mode, it creates a sap as a defense mechanism to “seal” the wounds at port of entry but in no way is the sap (or its removal) the cause or the under lying problem.

Similarly when sleep slowly over time becomes deficient and tangles compound which are unable to be extricated from the brain region via the glial lymphatic system installed at the furthest depths of the brain, plaque perhaps by the command of the SR1(?) are deployed to attack as a defense mechanism to keep the tangle damage from creating a microcosm of problems in the regions of the brain.

Some people with Alzheimer’s have plaque and some dont. Perhaps it is fair to say some patients with Alzheimer’s have lymphatic systems that do not “leak” or are still mechanically soundly working but due to poor diets or other circumstances the entanglements continue.

All these years scientists have been guessing at the removal of the plaque. Imo they errored as they focused not so much the removal as much as the liquifying of the plaque. I say this because how is it that we think we understand the complexities of trying to utilize a lymphatic system after said plaque is liquified hence the brain swelling and associated side effects.

Our drug, by being so far up stream in its MOA and working synergistically with the body’s homeostatic recovery, allows the body to not only liquify the plaque it has dispersed but with it (through further trial data by way of identified recovery of brain regions through scanning) the entangles. With REM sleep recovery which allows the bodies own natural process of shrinking and flushing of daily entanglements we are not trying to use “draino” to forcefully extricate plaque out of the body with a plunger.

Bottom line is imo the amyloid plaque and removal theory needs to be put to rest. Instead new light, resources, and embracement of thinking outside of the box, with no fear, should be the main goals of moving forward. Of course pride, control, power, and greed all stand in the way but once those appetites and vices are curtailed and mastered, humanity can go a long way with “homeostasesing” (new word I created) itself back to the way we were designed.

I now digress from my soap box.

Cheers
