Do you understand where the patents originated here? Do you understand who contracted with Dr. Liau and UCLA and for what?
Do you understand who kept this thing going to OS instead of throwing in the towel at PFS being challenging or at any other stage, that they could have done so?
Do you understand who funded and strategized and even ended up on some of the process patents and more significant patents?
Do you understand who stepped up and put their own money in at critical times when the going was rough?
Do you understand who strategized how to avoid all the Dendreon fails? That wasn’t the “science team”, that was the management and internal science people. They came up with a way to get this to patients in an incredibly inexpensive manner compared to Dendreon’s model and that was likely no small feat of logistics.
Who paid those salaries and kept people happy and on the team all of these years?
Who successfully defeated and parried nuisance and short driven lawsuits to make them either go away or to make them relatively minor in economic or disruptive impact?
Who got the SAP successfully revised and filed before they looked at the data and kept in contact with regulators to ensure what I expect will be reasonably smooth sailing for all the complications.
Who bought and integrated Flaskworks and funded a self-owned factory for a quite reasonable cost compared to Dendreon and did a sale leaseback to fund a lot of work to do that?
Who got approval to sell, at their anticipated price, DCVax-L pre-approval to patients in the UK, something I have not seen with any other cell therapy company. Who got, regardless of the various programs limitations, the PIM designation in the UK and the Hospital Exemption designation in Germany, for broad application to cancerous brain tumors beyond GBM?
Whose vision is being implemented and put into a reality broadly, beyond clinical trials?
How many other microcap cell therapies outside of CAR-T, which was akin do a bubble have gotten this far? I don’t know any, some are still working and may likely get there, particularly in CAR-T, but not many other areas and this is not CAR-T.
What other dendritic cell companies do you know of or cancer vaccine companies do you know that have gotten this far and with these kinds of results and capacities for manufacturing potentially coming on line?
I think selling the notion that they “failed” is about the most bogus pile of nonsense being sold right now on social media.
There are so many more ways to keep going with firsts and impressive accomplishments. This is not even possibly the half of it all. And that is not at all to take away from the science team which is also doing amazing stuff, but the notion that it wasn’t management is totally nonsense.
