Traders in these commodities obviously are pricing in an economic slowdown / recession. It always seems that more recession proof industries like large pharmas seem to also drop in lock step w the market creating, to me at least, a buying opportunity. Yes there are other factors - rising cost of capital, a strong US dollar that will negatively impact earnings for US based multinationals that derive meaningful revenues overseas, etc., but still..
