I understand the feel good statements, but in reality they both are in business to make money. Not saying they do not hold those beliefs, just that I am skeptical of all large Pharma and their motives. I mean they couldnt/wouldnt put on their website:

"we are a power hungry pharma company that enjoys crushing our competition. We also charge inflated prices for our drugs to keep our shareholders and Wall Street happy".

IMO if they could acquire NW and all related assets in CH11 proceedings, they would. A sinister way to look at it, but large Pharma has created this reputation themselves.
