Maybe not many ( shorters as well ) realise that LWLG has a large European shareholder base. My estimate at least 50% of all outstanding shares, maybe more. The majority of these European shares is long. ( Shorting is not a very popular practice in Europe, even forbidden by law in certain countries). That means that the available pool for ( largely American) shorters to find cover is restricted to a maximum of 50% of all outstanding shares. That makes a great difference. Moreover most Europeans bought at a time when the Euro was strong ( 1€= $ 0.65). Today the dollar is strong ( €1 = $ 1) and most Europeans have now ( next to a share price appreciation of a couple of 100%) around a 30% currency gain on their Lightwave shares. Nobody is going to sell in Europe given the guidance by the company and and the forecasts for the European economy and currency. It also means if a squeeze happens, coverage must be even more difficult than American shorters are currently anticipating.
