While Microsoft undoubtedly has clout because it is widely assumed (correctly or incorrectly) that these folks set the standards it is nevertheless important to restate that a lot of the TCG mechanisms are actually outside of the OS, be it Windows or Linux or whatever...

A major part of Wave's work takes place in the pre-boot environment: Establishing trust (authenticating) in the various elements that either authenticate the platform, the user or components. By the time the OS boots the trust within the system has already been established.

My trip to the RSA and the in-depth explanation and demos I received helped me gain a better appreciation for this type of work. And Microsoft doesn't play in that pot. Neither does Linux nor Unix nor other OSs
