The product isn't a scam, it is real. It has even been shown to be effective, at least at the "statistically significant" level used in clinical trials (you know, p-value <0.05).

But the company built up around that product, (such as it is with its 6 or seven employees, are they all relatives or in-laws?), at times sure looks kind of scammy (dare I mention Joe Noel, or the SEC judgement). To your point about others big names falling for a scam, let me just say:
