A 50% share will enable Berkshire to consolidate OXY's earnings, which for Buffet is better than buying OXY.

This would provide Berkshire earnings plus an independent market valuation of their OXY holdings.


But with just a 20% current holding I bet it will take a while to acquire the other 30%, perhaps a sudden downturn in oil stock prices.

We've run out of other people's Social Security taxes needed to subsidize our low income tax rates.
