I know full well what a Provisional patent is, and its limitations, as it cannot be publicized as a utility patent! It has a one year basic lawful period where it can either be patent Applied for or get renewed for another year, maybe more!

I am not sure you know that the provisional patent is not legally worth the lead it is printed on, but it does give the holder time to revise or perfect the Invention! But once a last revision of a P-Patent is rendered, that version must be the one patented, or penalties assessed! Whether that final Utility Patent, aside from what the latest Provisional patent has disclosed, I don't know what penalties will be assessed?
