Don't know about Butler who died in 1940, but this huge JP Morgan criminal case involving precious metals and treasury futures was a genuine example of traders manipulating prices for substantial gain by means of order spoofing which was made illegal in 2010.

What does this case mean for the long term investor? Probably almost nothing. It's another example of "The More You Trade, The More You Lose."
