the thing for me is that while we know photonics is now being taken seriously, we don't know where we are in the process. Outside of Lightwave there is little indication of where photonics is with the foundries, and articles that do mention it say it is still years away.

So, the primary driver of expectations is the company and mainly Dr Lebby. For most here that is good enough - for me I can't help but get excited by what he says due to his reputation and experience, but there is a part of me that will continue to doubt until the deal is announced for 2 main reasons: the history of the company in raising these kinds of expectations for over a decade now, and the outrageous (my opinion) awarding of $5 million in bonus money when the company has yet to see any revenue at all.

Add to that the already billion valuation and I totally get why there is a large short position here. We hope that the timeline is near, but it sure would be nice to get some further validation at this point in time.
