I'd like to go on record with a guess for the design of the Watch 8 Pro. I think the frame around the screen will have a gutter built into it — a recessed open slot that surrounds the screen and is perhaps 1-2mm deep. Into this gutter one will press a band of silicone that is circular in cross section. It will look like a rubber band, but will be silicone and will come in various colors. Pressing this into the slot, the rubber band will almost completely be enveloped, protruding perhaps 1-2mm above the surface of the Watch. This bumper will be a shock absorber. Liquidmetal will allow this slot to be easily created without having to machine the hell out of a super-hard metal. The plan will be followed in future years by an iPhone design that allows a somewhat larger "rubber band" to be pressed into an open slot around the iPhone screen. A second slot may be found on the camera side of the screen. Using Liquidmetal for the iPhone's camera back and sides will allow these slots to be easily created, and will allow some aspects of the periscope camera system to be formed into the back panel of the iPhone. It will also create a rigid structure that is not a sandwich, but a bowl. This shape will allow more to be placed inside the body of the phone.These bumpers will negate the need for cases, and of course the Liquidmetal and even stronger glass (sapphire??) will ensure that even the bumpers are not strictly necessary for standard use. — An elaborate guess, but more fun than work at this moment :)
