Most newbies has little knowledge of short activity, but DO think of them as scary and threatening to the stock. Continued focus on short activity without it being presented positively for the stock movement will have a negative effect on demand.

The squeeze hype was helpful, but the daily focus only feeds negativity and makes the board look scared -- ie not helpful at all.
