That price will be determined by the MM's. I'm not sure how many of us realize that the MM's trade for their own account!! Often more than not, the trades are reflected in random order or the order that supports the desired direction for the MM's !! They're not required to post trades in the order they were received. Therefore, if a big block sold for $.03 over last trade and the MM's want to walk the SP down, they'll hold that trade, post a small trade for a $.01 below the last screen and maybe show the large block trade later in the day or the next day!!
So my point is until an organized retail demand surfaces, nothing's going to scare these guys!!~ And even then, if the 4 or 5 MM's that trade the stock decide not to sell until the demand "turns to mist" by simply not showing upward price action in the same manner that repeats itself everyday over the past 2 months, the buying interest fades and the price sinks into the close!! The kind of buying interest that will cause the MM's to give up their stock is a buyout. That's the ultimate "large retail" buyer. No more trades!!! Nothing to manipulate and "Game Overt" !!! AND if any of them have unwittingly dabbled in "naked shorting" then they've got to find the "cover stock" or it's "Game Over" for them as individuals and most likely for their banker!!!
All of the above supports the possibility that even with great news, the near term SP might not run!!! If that happens, sit tight and wait awhile longer for the cumulative impact to reach the bigger institutional players that probably haven't given Northwest a second look.They know that they could buy all the stock they want from frustrated longs for $8 or $10 on the way to $250 a share!!!
