Something has to change with shooters like the one in the Uvalde school murdering people while outside a virtual convention of armed officers in Texas waited considering whether to shoot themselves::
91 Texas Marshalls
27 US Marshalls and officers from the Department of Homeland Security
also arriving later were
149 US Border Patrol officers, 3 of whom were the only officers to take any action.
The problem was, Texas only had only 267 armed officers who could respond to the shooter.
Perhaps if Texas hired 8 out of every 10 Texans to be police officers, each non-officer Texan could be shadowed by an armed officer in eight hour shifts around the clock.
Texas will also likely need Federal officers armed with heavier duty weapons to watch and monitor the armed Texas officers during their shifts and off. It's going to be very costly.
And my family is still not allowed to go hand grenade hunting, which historically has been a cherished tradition. Chasing a turkey or a deer with an RPG, there's nothing like it. It's pure recreation.
We've run out of other people's Social Security taxes needed to subsidize our low income tax rates.
