I hope Coretec as a result of its work with the CEA will be a part of the new project The European Union has just started the 2 BoSS program , " Towards sustainable batteries based on silicon , sulfur and bio mass derived carbon .This Gov group below , the IREC, is also part of the new project 2BoSS which Pascale Chenevier and the CEA , whom Coretec has been working with at the CEA French alternative energy and atomic energy comm. is part of as well . Its just getting started. Cleopa GmbH is also involved ( Germany based) and Politecico di Torino a university in Italy . The project last 3 years . The IREC will make the cathode materials hopefully the CEA will make anodes with CHS for this new EU battery. Each partner has a differant role in the 2 BoSS battery .

Prof Andreu Cabot from the “Functional Nanomaterials” at IREC is the coordinator of this project. It partners with the “Nanoionics and Fuel Cells” and “Energy Storage, Harvesting and Catalysis” groups of the same institute, together with CEA (France), Politecnico di Torino (Italy) and Cleopa GmbH (Germany). The role of IREC in 2BoSS is to obtain biomass-derived carbon to be used at the cathode, to produce the cathode electrodes and to assemble and test the batteries.

The project has a total budget of ~1M€ and will run for 3 years.
