I think if Max stays healthy and Degrom is 80% of what he was before all of these injuries, the Mets are much better than the Braves. D matters bigtime in the post season.
And yes, Diaz looks less and less like the guy who played his part in costing Brodie his job. At the end of the day, all closers get whacked. Mariano gave in up to Arizona in the 2001 series, Chapman has gotten punished repeatedly...who can forget the weird smile after Altuve's hit...Kenley got rocked on a trashcan slider in the 2017 WS and last year Hader gave it up to Freddy. But you gotta trust someone and Diaz has shown this season that he's worthy of the chance. He might turn into Byung-Hyun Kim in October, but you won't know til you get there.
Love to see the Orioles playing decent ball. It's been a long road back from the Glenn Davis contract of franchise death. Teams like the Orioles and Pirates are fun to watch, which is more than I can say for quite a few teams this year. And I'd put Milwaukee on that list.
