Lavras Gold expands drilling at LDS Project in Brazil, highlights Almeria discovery

Lavras Gold Corp. President & CEO Michael Durose talked with Proactive's Angela Harmantas from the PDAC conference on Toronto about the company’s latest developments at the Lavras do Sul (LDS) Project in Brazil. The company, a gold exploration firm, currently holds around 1 million ounces across two of 24 exploration targets. Durose outlined the key 2024 milestones, including 17,000 meters of drilling across key areas such as Butiá, Fazenda do Posto, and Caneleira. A major highlight was the Almeria discovery, where drilling intersected 56 meters at 1 gram per ton of gold from surface. Looking ahead, Lavras Gold is focused on infill drilling at Butiá to define a potential mineable resource and step-out drilling at Fazenda do Posto to determine the mineralization limits. Clinical study SKNJCT-003 shows positive trends as company advances skin cancer research in UAE

Medicus Pharma CEO Dr. Raza Bokhari joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share updates on the ongoing SKNJCT-003 clinical study, which is being conducted at nine sites across the United States and aims to randomize 60 patients. An interim analysis conducted after enrolling more than half of the targeted participants has shown encouraging results. The study reports a clinical clearance rate exceeding 60%, with the investigational therapy demonstrating strong tolerability across both tested dosage levels. Notably, no dose-limiting toxicities (DLTs) or serious adverse events (SAEs) have been observed, and there have been no systemic effects or clinically significant abnormalities in laboratory results, ECGs, vital signs, or physical exams. These promising findings will be submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as part of a Type C meeting request in Q2 2025. In parallel, the company is advancing its clinical initiatives for non-invasive basal cell carcinoma treatment with a newly proposed study. This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multi-center trial has been submitted for approval to the UAE Department of Health. The study aims to enroll up to 36 patients at prominent medical institutions, including Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Shakbout Medical City, Burjeel Medical City, and the American Hospital of Dubai. Participants will be assigned in a 1:1:1 ratio to receive either a placebo or one of two dosage levels of the experimental treatment. North Bay Resources reports high-grade copper results from Feb 2025 exploration at Copper Island

North Bay Resources CEO Jared Lazerson joined Steve Darling from Proactive to unveil the latest exploration results from the company’s Copper Island Project, following a comprehensive rock sampling program conducted in February 2025. The program targeted eight outcrops within the Pomeroy 1-3, Beaver, and Copper Bell zones, yielding highly promising results. According to Lazerson, assay results revealed copper concentrations as high as 5.69%, along with silver reaching 1 ounce per ton and vanadium at 0.22%. The average assay values stood at 4.6% copper, 0.5 ounces per ton silver, and 0.9% vanadium, further underscoring the project’s potential. Additionally, metallurgical testing indicated that copper mineralization exists in oxide form up to 74.4%, with average oxide copper content of 40.3%, 42.1%, and 58.4% across three different leach tests. This is a crucial finding, as copper in oxide form is typically associated with lower processing costs and higher recovery rates, enhancing the project's economic viability. The Pomeroy 3-4 Zone, one of the most significant areas of interest, exhibits mineralization over a strike length of approximately 750 feet—making it the largest of the numerous copper-silver zones identified to date. The mineralization is associated with a northwest-to-north-trending sequence of amygdaloidal basaltic flows, with key east-west to east-northeast-south-southwest cross-cutting fault and fracture zones contributing to the structural complexity. Multiple parallel mineralized zones have also been identified, further expanding the project's exploration potential.
