Edison and Adams

Hello, I’d like to speak to Mr. Ansel Adams.” The reply came back, “Speaking”

Wow! How wonderful was that?

Yes, Ansel Adams, another who thought beyond and outside of what "was known." Pretty much self-trained as a photographer. One of the greatest.

I've done thousands of photos of biological and geological subjects, across the continent, for the many digital programs I present on biological topics. In fact, I wonderfully apply Ansel Adams's zone mapping to many of my photos, with digital re-processing. HIs concepts turn gray-blah photos into stunners.

As for Thomas Edison's influence on me, he began my interest in science. In the fourth grade, when I was struggling with school (got put into school too early, was developmentally behind; had very poor grades) Mrs. Stuckey, my fourth-grade teacher took our class on a field trip to Edison's birthplace. There, I bought a paperback biography of Edison, written for children. I read it, and believed if Edison, with his perceived mental deficiencies could go on to success in science, so could I, From that day forward, I decided to be a "scientist." Fruitful inspiration.
