Good read from Silvia on Yahoo Message Board. It kinda reinforces my conviction of why I own NLST.

I saw that Nick reiterated his claim this week that NLST lost to Diablo which is somehow related to his assertion of NLST lost to Smart and Inphi. As an in-person witness to the NLST/Diablo trial and as the whistle-blower letter showed and as was clear to the judge that gave NLST an injunction against Sandisk and IBM, Diablo definitively stole NLST technology because Diablo knew the amazing value that NLST technology presented. Diablo was willing to risk their future based on the fact that NLST was cash poor and that Sandisk/IBM would give them cover in the event of a lawsuit. History clearly shows that Diablo/Sandisk/IBM lost their bid to use NLST's patented technology -- and it also clearly shows that Diablo went bankrupt because of their theft. Dodo cannot possibly wriggle out of that one.

What we also know is that SK Hynix was the number one fighter in their bid NOT to pay royalties to Rambus. They eventually came to the table when it was evident (as the last holdouts) that Rambus would eventually win the patent fight. The same is true against NLST's patents. Samsung came to the table years before Hynix and Hynix aggressively resisted the effort by NLST to bring them to the table. Hynix somehow got out of the ITC1 unscathed and initially lost in ITC2 before getting a reprieve on appeal. But the writing was on the wall -- they were going to lose in Texas. Consequently, they submitted to NLST.

So what does this say about NLST today? How does their past history portend what is to come to NLST's thieves and adversaries? Well, now that NLST has won some battles (Hynix, Google, Samsung), they are in a much better financial position to pursue their dreams of becoming a player in the worldwide memory market. In addition, they are also in a much better position to pursue their patent infringement cases that should pay them for their remarkable innovation; innovations that helped lead to Google's rise over the last 15 years.

Innovation so remarkable that some of the world's largest company's have done everything imaginable, even illegal things, to NOT have to pay NLST for their patented technology.

However, those days are over and that is why the price reached $10.20 this past year. Of course, there will be some hiccups along the way; of course, there will be uncertainty over short-term outcomes; of course, we will see fear in the market and in the court cases leading up to the final decisions.

But the final outcome is quite clear. NLST will get paid for their technology by the world's largest memory makers, NLST will create an ASIC for the CXL bus, and NLST will build an ecosystem around their hybrid technology.

It was never going to be easy -- because it is a threat to the existing technologies with huge profits. It anyone didn't think memory makers were going to fight this, they were as delusional as Dodo has been through this all drama.
