Good post. After looking up the definition of "heteromer", I fully agree with the unique binding effect between the S1r and the M1 receptors.

heteromer: "The ligand binding properties and intracellular trafficking pathways of GPCR heteromers usually show elements from both parent receptors, but may also produce quite unexpected pharmacological effects, making such heteromers an important focus of current research.[18][19][20][21][22]"

Agree 100%. I believe the Anavex team has thoroughly studied and identified the most potent binding points of the S1R and the adjoining muscarinic receptors.

This is the HOW and WHY of Blarcasemine's efficacy...especially when comparing it to other S1R drugs.
