dogn, I attended a Jesuit college and my two favorite instructors were both Jesuit
Priests whom I considered to be "mystics." One priest was also a Japanese
Zen Master who taught classes on Chinese/Japanese history, culture, & of
course Zen. The other priest was a "genius" with an identic memory who was
also a chain smoker and drank whiskey straight. I thought the two were likely
good friends...Many years later I found out they hated each other...The Zen Master
hated the smoking. Ironically, the Zen Master priest died of Cancer (blamed
on the smoking priests second hand smoke. The smoking priest died most
likely from cancer as well. My lesson, God must have a sense of humor.
