You seem to think that the FDA is the one designing and funding AD trials.

Some one has to have the stones to (at least ASK) the FDA to explain how/why they spent so much time-money-resources (30+ years) executing one failed trial

That is not the case. Trials are designed, funded and run by the drug companies not the FDA.

The FDA does not tell drug companies what research directions to pursue. The drug companies and the startups like Anavex make those decisions and raise the money to run the trials.

Last time I checked the cause of Alzheimer's has not been found.
