The US Gov’t has itself in a mess. No one wants their bonds, and after the little trick they pulled on Russia, fewer central banks want to be dependent on their currency either.

I think the coming storm will be retribution against the USD, Euro, pound, and yen by several countries who have had enough of the US hegemony. Commodities in general and Gold in particular should play a major role in whatever they come up with.
