”Wafer yield" refers to the proportion of chips in a wafer that pass all tests


Actually, you are incorrect but, having no experience in semiconductor manufacture, I wouldn’t expect you to know.

“Wafer yield” refers to yield at wafer sort using wafer probes, prior to wafer dicing, assembly and final test. A device can fail at final test that passes tests at wafer sort.

Kerrisdalecap is making some good points on how Lightwave makes veiled hints that the fans blow up to hyperbolic levels.
