It is possible that the timing of the Kerrisdale report was dictated by the shareholders’ meeting. Knowing the actual state of using photonics in widespread semiconductor fabrication, they may have felt compelled to challenge Lightwave’s statements of pending revenue in a relatively short-term period when they knew that was improbable.

Such a scenario is at least as likely than a conspiracy by unclad short-sellers. Probably more.
